Angela & Bertrand

Just an assuming weeb boy and a try-hard gal wandering the halls of Bayview. Other than a few interactions, there was no real association or contact between these two.

Riot officially launches Valorant, a first person tactical shooter game. Angela begins to spend a lot of time playing this with Haowei, and later Bertrand. The pipeline begins.

With social distancing finally loosening, "The Boys" have an in-person gathering at Ten Miles BBQ to welcome back Haowei from his exile in San Francisco.

Angela and Bertrand see each other in person for the first time in 5+ years. 👀

After flirting on Discord and in person for many months, Bertrand visits Angela while she's on electives in London, Ontario and they confess their feelings for one another. Given the uncertainty of CaRMS ahead, they decide to see one another without any official labels.

While stargazing, Bertrand and Angela finally make it official and begin dating! Angela moves back to the GTA to start her Family Medicine residency in Summer 2022.

Our first overseas trip together! Eastern Germany — ate the most amazing Döner Kebab (Angela thinks about this a lot), attended Oktoberfest, and had a somewhat exhilarating and suspicious experience on an overnight train 👀 (ask us about this if you want LOL).

For their first anniversary, Bertrand took Angela to a family-run Italian restaurant in Newmarket (she was working at Southlake at the time). Luna Ristorante has since become one of their favourite restaurants, especially for special occasions. 🍝

Dec 22: Angela meets Bertrand's family for the first time.

Dec 23: Their first Christmas together. 🎄

Bertrand goes to China and meets all of Angela's relatives. Drinks some of them under the table too. 💪 They visited 张家界 (Avatar Mountains), 重庆 (Chongqing), and 成都 (Chengdu). A super memorable moment: night hiking the Great Wall of China.

Angela whisks Bertrand away on a romantic Valentine's trip to Paris where he drags her to spend Valentine's Day in the Catacombs 💀 Got scammed into the most expensive meal they've ever had (€1,000 — ouch 😭), and brought home a LOT of French butter.

Bertrand fulfills one of Angela's bucket list items — a hot air balloon ride in Kapadokya (Cappadocia). He proposes at sunrise in Love Valley. She said yes! 🎉

Bertrand and Angela finally move in together and buy a home. A new chapter begins! 🏡
